What IS Twisted Kaiju Theater?

Quite simply, you're soaking in it. TKT is my own creation, a webcomic openly ripping off Twisted Toyfare Theater from Toyfare Magazine. I use Godzilla Toys from my own extensive collection and rearrange them in compromising positions for your amusement.

What does KAIJU mean?

Kaiju is the Japanese term for monster, but refers to a genre of monsters seen in Japanese films as well. The monsters the Power Rangers fight can be considered Kaiju. Other Kaiju movies include Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Kong, Reptilicous, Digimon and others. Film genres like Power Rangers, Ultraman and Spectreman fall under a category called Sentai, which is about angst-ridden teenagers who dress up in tights to combat kaiju. By comparison, it's more accurate to call Kaiju like Godzilla DAIKAIJU, or giant monster.

When did your love of Kaiju start?

Very early. I watched Spectreman on a local channel when I was a kid. The first movie my mom let me go see by myself was a matinee of Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster. Godzilla was my hero. Mom made me a stuffed Godzilla doll which I dressed up in a Six Million Dollar Man jacket. I really wish I still had that doll today.

What is your favorite Godzilla movie?

From the Showa Eiga, it would be Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla, followed by Terror of MechaGodzilla and Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster. From the Heisei Eiga it would be Godzilla vs. Destroyah. From the Shinrei Eiga, it would be Godzilla 2000 followed by Godzilla vs. Megaguirus.

Who is your favorite kaiju?

Godzilla is the top dog, followed by Hedorah, King Seesar and even Mantango.

How big is your collection?

Huge. A cast of 100's.

How much have you spent on kaiju collectables?

Probably more than I've ever spent on porn. It's embarrassing really. I don't like to think about it because it's too depressing. And it keeps growing.

How can I get started in kaiju collecting.?

While E-Bay is a good resource, believe it or not it is not a reliable one. There are too many people out there overcharging for collectables. Check out my links page for reliable sources.

Why do you hate [insert webcomic name here]?

Because I do. Occasionally I set my sights on a popular webcomic that I think truly, truly licks the ring of a dead man's asshole and let them have it will both guns.

Who are the Toxic Pirates?

My real life friends, Space Hojo, Marius MOGUERA, and Grendel. In one way or another they contribute to the success and infamy that is TKT.
