This website is dedicated to the memory of Dorothy Ginger McGuinness, elf-friend and Moonsinger, who crossed over after cancer took her before her time. She is an artist, instructor, wife and loving mother. I am Sean McGuinness, her son. Gathered here are pictures of her most famous creation, The Lord of the Rings Ceramic Chess Set, based on the legendary series by J.R.R. Tolkien. She loved this series and read The Hobbit to me as a child until I was old enough to read it myself. All of these figures are hand-sculpted and hand-painted. They range in height from four-inch pawns to nine-inch kings. I wanted to create this site so that others who share my enthusiasm in this epic story can view what I consider to be one of her greatest works.
