Standing about nine inches tall, the Bandai Burning Godzilla is a true collector's piece. I picked him up during my Christmas trip to Manhattan. He was a cool $100.00. Yes, I could have picked him up cheaper without tag elsewhere, but there is a great satisfaction from walkinginto a store, selecting and purchasing an item with your own hands, as opposed to clicking a mouse for an online order. Yes, I could have spent that money more wisely, BUT I HAD BEEN GOOD ALL YEAR. Therefore I deserved it.
The claws are painted gold. The figure is excellently sculpted with the scales clearly defined. If you compare him to the Bootleg Heisei Godzilla figure from the previous update, you can see all the trademarks that expose the bootleg as a bootleg. Currenly, they flank opposite sides of the same shelf like twin gargoyles.
The Meltdown version of this is made with semi-transluscent orange vinyl, and averages about $200.00. As per usual, I find it humorously grim that a representantion of our mutual hero and idol in a state of decay, death and suffering tends to be one of the more beautiful and popular figures around. No one sees Jesus sitting back and relaxing with a brew or sharing in the love of his fellow man, we all want to see him up on the cross in a humiliating and agonizing pose to remind us of why we should all feel guilty and fearful. Hey, I'm just exposing the truth as I see it, folks.
