The X-Plus 12" Burning Godzilla Resin Statue is quite a find. Representing Godzilla from the Heisei movie Godzilla vs. Destroyah, it wieghs in at just under ten pounds. It's cast in polyster resin and comes fully painted. The attention to detail is painstaking, even down to the grooves of his nails. The entire surface of his body is covered in his signature scales. The tongue is slightly curled up as he roars. The tail is at the peak of a lash, right before it comes crashing down on some unfortunate piece of Asian real estate.

If you look at the pose, it's incredible. You see muscles coiled under skin ready to strike like cobra. This Godzilla has been hitting the gym. Another feature to this great find is that the statue is transluscent. Set him in a window and you can see the burning fury shine through. This shows Godzilla in his burning form, as he is having a "nuclear heart attack" and his internal radiation causes his skin and internal organs to glow.

To make it easier to pack, ship and transport, the tail easily comes off the body. This allows you to see what number you got, mine is 478. Two metal poles hold the tail in place when displayed, so even though you can easily take the tail off, the figure will not fall to pieces when left by itself or jostled.

I was at Katsucon in Virginia Beach a few years ago with Space Hojo. Godzilla collectables were few and far between in the dealer's room. I had picked up some large SD figures from this one dealer, who told me he regularly orders anything Godzilla for someone who visits his comic shop. I had been eyeing this box on the top shelf for most of the con, and on the last day I asked to see what was in it. Big mistake. The minute I saw the head peek out, I knew I had to take him home. My eyes drifted over the body of this statue and I knew for a fact I was buying it. I had done a two week shift of overtime and third shift at work to earn money for the convention, and I decided that I deserved to spend it on this particular Godzilla. It cost over $100.00, and I haven't questioned buying it once.
