SENTINELS, one of the most widely known forces in the Marvel Universe. Giant, mutant-hunting killer robots designed to cleanse homo sapiens of the freak menace. They are also one of the most misunderstood and underrated Hero-Clix in the WizKids universe. Because of their high point values, expense, and special rules, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone playing with one or more on a regular basis. In this Data File and the reviews to follow, I hope to bring a much-needed light to the Sentinel, who is by far and away my favorite figure in the game.

It's time to update the award winning Sentinel Files with the new Battlefield Conditions and Feat Cards. The Sentinel has ot seen restricted status yet, and we're still waiting to see the big mystery as to why they are arch enemies to Morlocks, but not to any of the Ultimate X-Men.

Darkness: This can actually be a boon to Sentinel players. A Sentinel's greatest power, the capture ability, is a close combat action. Limiting your opponent's range can help your Mark III from being cut to a Swiss Cheese Mark I from a V Bullseye. But it works both ways, so be carefull when you're trying to back up your Sentinel with Perplex and Probability Control.

Earthquake: Just an absolutely great BC. You can't rely on it, and it may mess up your Sentinel, but what a great way to totally ruin your opponent's use of medics and cheap perplexers. Not really a good card to use on yoru Mark VII's and III's, but a good gamble for your Mark I's.

Crosswinds: Use it. Sentinels ignore hindering terrain and enemy bases as a special ability because of their large size, and why should your opponent be able to fly?

Ordinary Day: Have this one in your deck JUST in case. It's a sure bet someone will whip out a BC that messes up your strategy.

War Zone: Doesn't benefit Sentinel players, as they are immune to Support. However, this card can prevent Wolverine from getting healed up 6 clicks when you just gave him the ever loving Sunday beating of his life.

White Noise: Another double edged sword. Sentinels thrive on hooker-bots, but rely on their powers not to be outwitted. Use on your Sentinels only if you do not have any perplexers on your team, and rely on V U-Men.

Automatic Regeneration: N/A as Sentinels do not have Regeneration.

Fastball Secial: I was really hoping to see Abomination throw a Sentinel across the board since oth figures have no team ability, thereby making them HAVE the same team ability, but to no avail. So N/A on this card too.

Haymaker: You really want to be cautious about pushing your Sentinel on its Mark III and VII stats, but a Mark III can get pushed to his sweet spot faster. however, for spending 15 points just to get an extra 2 damage with a -1 attack value, you're better off with a hooker bot. It's still a decent option.

Passenger: Sentinels can't be carried, so no huffing it with your R Vanisher through walls lugging a ten ton robot on his back. N/A.

Pounce: N/A since Sentinels lack L/C.

Rip It Up: N/A sinze Sentinels lack SS, but I've always thought it should be one of their special powers anyway.

Taunt: Really think about this one. You don't want to taunt a Kingdom Come Superman into grabbing a toaster and bashing you with it. But let's say you see Nightmare sitting all pretty 10 squares away. Well Nightmare only has a 0 range. Taunt him and force him to come base to base with your Sentinel and capture him on the next round. Make sure you do it so he pushes or back your Sentinel up with some Incap. this is most excellent for the Double Actions that the Sentinels get on all Marks. If you hit both times, you can get that pesky Wolverine to walk across the board into your loving metal arms and he'll be too pooped to attack you on your opponent's turn. It's cheap Mind Control, people.

Trick Shot: N/A, but it sure would be beneficial to have a Sentinel that could see stealthed figures.

i hope you have found this educational and informative. Next update, the DC feats. I'm sure you're all drooling over the Lazarus Pit card, which I dub the Master Mold Sentinel Detail and Body Shop. Stay tuned.
