A few months ago a scientific expedition was sent to Antarctica in order to investigate something discovered by a passing plane some days before. What they stumbled upon was rather startling; a beached whale, apparently killed and dragged up onto land by a creature far smaller than the whale. As they looked around the carcass one of the scientists was suddenly attacked (or tackled to the ground and studied) by a crimson-skinned k-girl. The girl seemed (strangely enough) to possess the basic abilities of speech and was able to communicate with the team as they brought her back to civilization, one of the scientists naming her 'Gumah' after the massive kaiju that had been discovered (and killed) in the Antarctic years ago.

The Maguma-morph was then flown to Neo Monster Island and was enrolled at Daikaiju High, where she quickly found friends in several of the other aquatic k-girls there (and, during a chance encounter with Cessy when a truckload of fresh fish was accidentally unloaded in front of the school, she also found someone who shared her passion for fish). Gumah is a peaceful girl who prefers to take it easy and relax when she gets the chance, but should anyone get on her bad side she is not above furiously pummeling said person(s) to a pulp...or get pulped herself; seeing as how she is not exactly the strongest k-girl around. Gumah (or ‘Gummi’ to her friends) is one of the members of the DKH swimming team, and her favourite after-class activity is doing lap after lap in the school pools, either alone or along with Orkazooka, Ebi or any of the other swimmers.
